what kind of help is available?
We offer a range of different therapies, advice and support, depending on your problem and what is most likely to be helpful for you. We will initially provide an assessment and then discuss with you the most suitable treatment options.
Information, advice and support
This may include: problem solving, information leaflets and relevant reading materials or resources, information about appropriate local or national agencies, referral for specialist financial or housing or employment advice and support whilst you are addressing any of those issues.
Guided self-help and computerised cognitive behaviour therapy (CCBT)
These treatments help individuals change the way they feel by developing practical strategies to deal with problems in a different way. You will be given information about your problem, workbooks, other materials, or online programmes to assist you.
Workshops
These provide education and support around a particular topic such as: stress management, depression and anxiety. These courses help people to understand their difficulties better and develop ways of overcoming them.
Individual therapy
This is provided by therapists trained in offering a range of therapies appropriate for different sorts of problems. It enables you to work individually with a suitable practitioner to address your particular difficulties.
Group therapy
This takes place in small groups (usually 8 to 12 people) and focuses on a specific problem such as ‘Anger Management' or ‘Building Self-Esteem'. People typically gain valuable support and insight from meeting and working with others with similar difficulties.
